Peer Writing Groups
Sharing the company of other writers is one of the best ways to sustain the motivation to write, receive constructive feedback, and replenish one's literary creativity. Below is a listing of a few writing groups that meet in the Hudson Valley area and are accepting new participants.
If you facilitate an ongoing writing group and would like us to include your posting here, please e-mail us with the following information:
Required:
- Type of group (i.e. poetry group, women's writing group, fiction, novel critique, etc.)
- Contact information (which can be an e-mail address, phone number, or web site)
Optional but very useful:

East Greenbush Writer's Group (Novels, Memoirs, Magazine Articles)

One Tuesday evening per month (to be determined by group). Our first organizational meeting will be held on Oct. 28, 2008.
Wanted: Experienced Writers for Rensselaer County Writing Group. East Greenbush Writer's Group is currently welcoming new members. This group is for writers who are published or actively seeking publication. Our group includes writers of magazine articles, novels, and memoirs. Each meeting will focus on critiques. We will discuss as many pieces as possible (one article or one chapter each) per meeting.
